Heartbleed Bug

Many of you may have heard about the infamous #Heartbleed OpenSSL bug that caused a panic on the internet. Basically the bug allowed an attacker to see some data that should be hidden privately behind an encrypted SSL connection, and was named for its exploitation of the OpenSSL heartbeat feature.

The bug affected most OpenSSL connections in use across the entire internet (e.g. most HTTPS connections on the internet), causing everyone to question how protected an HTTPS connection really made them, though a fix was deployed quite quickly. Nowcado is one such site that uses HTTPS, but we have long since deployed the fix for this threat, so no worries there. Like any secure internet service, we take the security of our users and their information very seriously, which is why we always stay on top of security vulnerabilities such as this.
