Tiny #Kitchen, #Culinary Mission: #Peanut #Satay

Satay is an incredibly popular #Asian dish, having originated in #Indonesia. There are actually hundreds of variations, though we are going to focus on the peanut sauce used in a simple variant today.

  • 1/2 c coconut milk
  • 2 tbsp + 2 tsp peanut butter
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tbsp fish sauce
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes

  1. Cook coconut milk on medium until just starting to boilIMG_20140831_202300
  2. Reduce heat and add all the other ingredientsIMG_20140831_202456
  3. Simmer for about 5 minutes, then turn off heatIMG_20140831_203827

Generally grilled, skewered meat is provided with the satay, and it is dipped in a sauce like this one. Stay tuned when we use it in our completed fusion dish!
